Yogi Deets, M.P.H., C.P.H., CHES, RYT 200, RCYT 95: While my formal education is in public health, with specific experience in infectious disease control and community health education, I have a passion for yoga and its numerous health benefits, mental and physical. I have been practicing yoga for fourteen years now. During this time, I have tried various types of yoga and have learned about poses and yoga flows that can alleviate aches and pains (acute or chronic) as well as alleviate side effects of certain illnesses and infections, like addiction, HIV, and cancer. Yoga can also help ease reactivity and emotional stress and anxiety! My goal in life is to share these wonderful physical and mental health benefits to everyone, showing that yoga can truly be for anyone. Yoga is not just about reaching a pose, it’s about creating space and opening your mind to the possibilities the universe offers.
